Band Name
McKenna Ellis
Genre
80’s Rock

Hi my name is McKenna Ellis! I’m a new artist here in Tupelo and I have loved each and every opportunity for playing for my city. 80’s rock and 2000’s pop-rock is played from my heart and I cover anything from Journey, to Joann Jett, to Avril Lavigne. Music is a great passion of mine and any chance I can get to share my voice I take it with zero hesitation.

Favorite Song Composed/Performed

My favorite song to perform is Black Velvet by Alannah Myles. This song really opened my voice and helped me become comfortable singing in front of crowds. It’s a Mississippi favorite and it’s become my personal favorite!

Most Embarrassing Thing To Happen at a Gig
I’ve definitely messed up a lyric or two
Where We're From
I’m from Tupelo and the impact it’s had on my music has been nothing but love. I know a lot of people just from working in the restaurant industry so being able to network with different people on a daily basis is something I will forever appreciate.
Most Significant Thing to Happen to Us in Our Music
Getting gigs around Tupelo. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to be able to play at some of my favorite restaurants and to have people follow me just to hear me sing!

Check Out This Local Band
Will O’Barr without a doubt! He had me open for him at Romie’s Tupelo and without that opening gig I don’t feel like I would be where I am. He knew how I sounded and how bad I wanted this and he gave me the opportunity to share my voice with everyone.
Our Greatest Influence
My girlfriend has been a major influence of mine. Without her pushing me to put myself out there and start getting gigs I don’t think I ever would have. She is my biggest supporter and my greatest fan.
Artist We'd Meet, Living or Dead

I would definitely choose to meet the band of Journey. I grew up on their music because my mother is a huge fan, and I think their music speaks to the people. My favorite song to sing of theirs is Lights, because it speaks of the city you live in and how much you love the city you grow up in.
